5 Photography Tips

TAKE BETTER PHOTOS WITH THESE 5 TIPS

A well-shot photo is the backbone of any great edit. Today we've got 5 tips for you compiled from interviews with Instagram-famous photographer, Cole Rise.

1. Hold down the shutter for "burst mode"
Try shooting on the move with this trick. The results are always unique. On the iPhone, simply press and hold the shutter to take photos in burst mode.

2. Create an interesting foreground
This can be done by getting low to the ground to capture texture, or by setting your phone on a interesting surface. Try this with water or any uneven surface.

3. Balance your shadows and highlights
By dulling highlights and brightening up shadows, you'll give your photos a more vibrant and balanced look without seeming over-edited.

4. Landscapes + Humans = Better Photo
We all want to imagine being in the magical places we see in pictures online. Include humans in your scenic shots to bring them to life and to put the viewer right there in the picture. Humans can also help to create a sense of scale.

5. No flash
Especially when taking pictures of your food. When you do use flash, be sure to follow Tip #3 to eliminate flare and blow out.
