We're always on the hunt for users who are making great art with our apps. Recently, we discovered @brxxes and were mad impressed with his work! We wanted to get inside the head of this Font Candy artist to discover his favorite features, what inspires him, and what advice he has for new Font Candy users. | | @BRXXES: I’ve always had an interest in typography, and I wanted to overlay text on my photos to post to IG. I must have gone through every text overlay app. Font Candy was by far the easiest to use. I’ve been using it every since. | | What do you like about Font Candy? | | Font Candy was the first app I found with a really well done Eraser Tool. I fell in love with it. Definitely my go-to tool for every edit. The simple ability to create depth in a photo with typography instead of just placing a text overlay is one of the best, and most powerful, features of the app. | | What’s your favorite font? | | My favorite font will always be Voga. So sophisticated. | | Do you have any advice or tips/tricks for new Font Candy users? | | My advice for new Font Candy users is to create “atmosphere”, meaning to take whatever emotions you feel from a picture and translate that into text. To me, a great Font Candy edit is one that transports the viewer with a creative photo and a phrase that adds both visual and emotional depth. | | What’s your background? Are you an artist, designer, art major? | | I come from a background of film and drawing. I love all art forms, but for my edits I try to create a cinematic feel above all else. Typography really opens up the door for what’s possible to create. I’m really into ink pen drawings too. I love that art style. | | I am inspired by the world I see around me. I take what I feel from experiencing life and seeing people living their own lives regardless of me, and I translate that into photography using Font Candy. I'm inspired that my followers can relate to that, and hopefully I can encourage them to try something artistic in their lives. | | What projects are you working on currently? Where can the people find your work? | | My two Instagram accounts, @brxxes and @sixwall, are my current projects. I’m working on edits for those two everyday. Both accounts have a theme of bright palettes to match summer days, so expect a lot of color and happy atmospheres. | | Go check out @brxxes and @sixwall. This guy is doing some really great work with Font Candy. Let yourself be inspired by him, and then go create something great for yourself. | | | | |
