This week, we have 4 more handy tips for taking better photos. The greatest edits all start with a great photo. Put these tips to use and you might find your edits on our IG. Make sure to use #easytigerapps when you post! | | Don't forget the cardinal rule of mobile photography! Lighting is important, no matter what you're shooting, whether a landscape, portrait, or sunset. Focus on lighting and you'll find yourself relying less on photo editing sliders and black and white filters. Use natural lighting and practice shooting away from the sun. | | When a scene catches your eye, slow down. Take a deep breath and settle your nerves. Then shoot. Hold your arms against your body, tap your screen to focus, and exhale while you snap your photo. With a bit of practice, this technique will eliminate all blur from your photos. | | If you've owned an iPhone in the last year, you've probably tried a selfie stick. While they can be useful at times, they are not the end-all-be-all of iPhone photography tools. A tripod is a great idea for time-lapses or stop motion film. Better yet, instead of using a camera aid, focus on training your hands to be steady and your eyes to be critical. And don't forget about the iPhone's photo timer feature for group shots! | | 4. Composition: Framing, Rule of Thirds, Leading Lines | | Framing is a technique to draw attention to the main subject of a photo. This is achieved by framing the subject with objects in the world to create depth (like the photo above). Use the “rule of thirds” to balance out the composition of your photo. The idea is that an off-centre composition looks more natural and creates a more “interesting” photo. Leading lines is a technique used to help to draw a viewer's eyes to the main focus of the photo. Leading lines can be found in tons of places: roads, stairs, alleyways, rivers. The world is full of natural lines. Find them and use them! | | | | |
